Alert: Ask your Senator and House Representative to add Commercial Dog Breeders to the Animal Welfare Section

The NC Dept. of Agriculture Animal Welfare Section currently covers our animal shelters, boarding kennels, pet shops and rescue groups. Dogs in commercial breeding facilities have no protection. By adding commercial dog breeders into the animal welfare section they will have standards for housing, veterinary care, sanitary conditions and ambient temperature. We have to do better. Commercial dog breeders should have responsible standards to adhere to like all other NC industries.
