Yes

In NC it is a felony to fight birds, but it is not illegal to possess the birds or the paraphernalia to fight the birds. This makes it difficult to shut down cock fighting rings because animal control must catch them in the act. Do you support a bill to make it a crime to possess the birds and paraphernalia with the intent to fight them?

As a huge animal advocate, and an advocate for liberty, it is hard for me to say yes here without actually seeing a bill. If someone is caught owning birds, and you find a Facebook post advertising a potential fight, then yes I would agree. But just the act of owning the birds would not be Constitutionally sound grounds for charges. Need just a bit more info.

NC does not currently have a definition for adequate housing in place for companion animals living outside. Would you support legislation to add a definition to our laws?

Yes, animals like that were not meant for domestication.

No previous political seat. However my wife operates a 501c3 Cat Rescue Organization, and I am a very staunch supporter of animal rights.

Yes, all of our pets are rescues, or (foster fails) for the most part! We have two rescue dogs and currently 4 rescue cats, and 3 horses.
