Charlotte council makes changes to tethering law

The changes take effect in March and include requirements concerning the length and weight of the chain. It also requires a dog to be four months and older to be tethered.

Those with the Coalition to Unchain Dogs said the changes do not go far enough and want tethering banned altogether.

However,council memebers said the tethering rules are a compromise which still holds pet owners responsible.
