| The Humane Society of the U.S., the N.C. Voters for Animal Welfare and Susie’s Law are sponsoring the Shelter Renovation Project, designed to improve a series of shelters across the state. The project begins with Caldwell County.
“In tough budget times, we want to draw attention to the shelter. It’s the community place for animal welfare,” said Alboum, the North Carolina director for the Humane Society of the United States. “Animal control runs the shelter and it’s the first place for animal rescue. They’re not running around with nets. They’re investigating animal complaints and helping abused animals.” Read more from the Hickory Daily Record |
